Hurry up Spring!

Every year my daughters grow and change so fast! Especially my youngest who is discovering fashion and is so particular I even get a shopping request list each season from her. This is her list for Spring so it will be an expensive weekend!

These graffiti print leggings from River island are super cute and it looks like print leggings are still about and will be all Spring.
We decided to get the gorgeous popular coral jumper  to go with the leggings along with a studded grey t shirt, all from River island.
My daughter has decided she wants Vans now and she likes the frost grey pink ones from Office and to finish it off we love the cute little mobile phone bags from H&M, they are perfect for girls that don't like carrying a handbag just yet but they nearly all have a mobile and if you are a mum like me you will get fed up of looking after everyone's mobiles in your handbag.
And last of all the 1D tee from H&M which we like in white and is perfect for our trip to go and see them live which is coming up soon.

Valentines Day Make up

Valentines day is coming up this week, this is when most of us women want to look even more fabulous for our partners or that special someone to impress. One of the best things that women have as our attraction weapon is Make up!
It can make you look romantic, sexy, hot, modern, pale even colourful. It can make your eyes look smaller, bigger, in fact you can change so much with the correct technique and as this is part of my job I wanted to share some makeup ideas for Valentines.

First this Doe eyed look I achieved by applying a good eye primer, I use Elizabeth Arden Eye Fix Primer (it makes your eyeshadow last so much longer). I then used Urban Decay Naked 2 palette Foxy all over the lid and then pistol in the crease and just along the bottom lid. For the liner I used Yves Saint Laurent Long lasting eyeliner (and it is very long lasting!) along the top and bottom winging out both. As you come to the inner eye at the bottom draw the line lower than you normally would, this gives the appearance of a bigger eye. I then smudged these out using a slanted eyebrush or you can the use the smudge tip on the eyeliner at the opposite end. I then used a white eyeliner to draw inside the lid and at the sides of my eye in between the black wings, then on the inner eye I went over the lid slightly just to where the black liner was. I finished with lots of Loreal Volume Million Lashes and some Amazing shine 747-XS false lashes.
(not my eye)

The Classic winged liquid eyeliner, this is a great sultry look and there are so many good liquid liners out now. I tend to use Collection 2000 Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner, it is so easy to draw on with and leaves a clear line and lasts all day without fading or smudging.

The classic Smokey eye, the best palette for this I find is the Urban Decay Naked 2, there so many neutral colours in there so you can have a lighter smokey eye if you are fair haired or go darker if you are Brunette. I use Busted and Blackout for the darker areas on my eyes as I like it very dark.
Last of all The Lips!
I love the Ombre lips and I will be re-creating this for Valentines day as I think it makes your lips look so full. First of all I primed my lips well as I want the red to stay put, I then put Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in Rouge Buzz on just the top lip (miss out the bottom lip totally). I then applied a coral crush lipstick (can't find the make as name has rubbed off) all along the bottom lip. You then gently press your lips together so that the red lipstick stains the bottom lip just on the inside which gives the Ombre effect.
Le Voila! Kissable lips.

Winter Beauty favourites

Just a quick post about my favourite Winter time beauty essentials.
Alpha Hydrox (the one that works). During the Winter my skin tends to become dull looking, this little pot of magic contains Alpha hydroxy acid which is used with chemical face peels but this is only 10% so it cleverly exfoliates your skin which encourages the new skin to come through leaving you looking fresh and glowing.
As I am an Essex girl it is our religion to have white teeth and these are affordable and work so well. You can find these on Crest whitestrips website at £40 ish.
Miss Sporty Doctor Balm which I came across while purchasing a sensible first lipstick for my 10 year old, this protects your lips and gives them a dash of lovely pink colour. They also come in other hints of colour.
And last of all Nivea Q10 age defying hand cream, at 30 something you need to start looking after your hands as they are usually what give your age away. This is a good hand cream, sinks in quickly, is not greasy and keeps your hands lovely and soft.

What a Beautiful Mane Part 2

First of all Happy New Year to you!
Well it's been over a month now waiting to see how I got on with Mane n Tail so here is a recap.
I decided to measure my hair and note the condition then have a months trial.
Well the measurements are now in after 2 months and it has grown an impressive 2 inches! The condition is better and the split ends have improved.
The shampoo itself is very thick and gooey and really lathers up once in your hair, once you pour out the conditioner and run it through your hair it does feels like you need more but I realised that a little does go a long way even if it doesn't feel as slimy as other conditioners. The smell of both the products is light and not over powering in any way as it is used for horses I wondered if it might smell pretty strong and medicinal. I'm not sure that I would use this every day as I have now gone back to my usual shampoo and conditioner. A months use every now and then is a great idea especially if your hair is in need of thickening up and especially if you are trying to grow it out.
So Mane 'n Tail will definitely be staying in my bathroom cabinet.

Festive eyes

Well with Christmas just around the corner I have been trying out some new looks and products, I love any thing sparkly and the Barry M dazzle dust is perfect to dust over your eyeshadow to give it that Christmas party look. I used an Elizabeth Arden eye primer, Sleek makeup bad girl palette mauve colour for the base and darkened this out at the edges using black. I then patted over Barry M dazzle dust in dd95, lined with liquid black eyeliner Loreal volume million lashes mascara and finished off using Salon system natrulash 140 intense false lashes.

What a beautiful mane!

After having my hair cut short back in 2011, I decided short is not for me and have been trying to grow it out. I do have naturally straight hair but when you get it cut short you find yourself having to style your hair more with products and heat. So while growing it out I have been left with a lot more split and dry ends and so I decided to research what I can try that will treat these and make my hair grow that little bit quicker.
After hearing about Jennifer Aniston and the shampoo and conditioner she  is rumoured to have used I knew it had to be Mane 'n Tail for horses, horse shampoo? you say, well I will try anything if it works.
This product was originally developed for horses and after people saw how gorgeous their horses Mane and tails looked they started to use this on their own hair. It is pH balanced so is kind to the hair and scalp and provides optimum body, shine and manageability. The combined ingredients are utilised to support natures hair growth.
So I ordered the shampoo and conditioner online and have decided to measure my hair and take pictures to actually see if there is a difference.
Day 1 hair length 15.5 inches from roots and very dry, split ends

I thought I would take a picture and measurements once a week for a month, so wish me luck in my mission to get my long, dark, shiny mane back!

Tell me about it, Stud.

Well we have all had a busy month as during October we have 2 birthdays and one was my daughters 14th Birthday! Which involved a huge party for a lot of teenagers.
One thing my daughter really wanted for her birthday was money (surprise, surprise) and clothes, the most important thing being The Camouflage Shirt. I purchased this from New Look, this is a great shirt! My daughter wore hers with black tights, denim shorts and a burgundy jumper underneath. She has literally lived and died in it all week.
The other thing we all love this season is Studs, they are popping up everywhere and are the new power dressing, who needs a suit when you have studs! We decided we wanted to accessorize some of our own clothing and so I had a look on EBay to find some. I purchased the 9 mm Silver Spike Cone studs for under four pounds and we all each picked what we wanted to stud up and got to accessorizing. They are very easy to push through the fabric and then using a knife you push down the the grips to keep them secure. My 10 year old chose a plain black top from H&M and added her studs to the shoulders and my eldest chose her New Look shirt and added these to the pockets.

They look great and only cost a few quid!
